Unveiling New Heights: Prerequisite Performance's Year in Review 2023
As we bid farewell to 2023, I'd like to reflect on the remarkable journey that has been the year for Prerequisite Performance. From my long awaited relaunch, an unbelievable six month mentorship with one of the greatest minds in the breathing space, collaborating with elite athletes and corporate giants, this year has been one I am extremely proud of.
1. Relaunching Prerequisite Performance: A Complete Health and Fitness Package
It has long been my goal to offer my clients a complete health and fitness package, something I believe to be largely missing from the industry. Rebranding my business, and moving forward with Prerequisite Performance, I believe to be a large step forward in fulfilling this goal. Still focused around a foundation of breathing, I am now looking to guide certain clients towards also focusing on their mobility, as well as strength and conditioning, in order to become the most rounded healthy individuals they can. I will still maintain a large population of clients with whom I purely focus on their breathing.
2. Breath Science Practitioner Qualification: Learning from the best
Undertaking a six month mentorship with Martin McPhilamy has placed me right on the cutting edge of science and practice within the breathing space. Having the opportunity to learn directly from someone who is undoubtedly one of the most respected names in the field, has truly taken my knowledge and service offering to new heights. This has been reflected in the clientele I am now working with, and the success I am having.
3. Partnering with Professional Athletes and Fortune 500 Companies
Prerequisite Performance expanded its horizons by collaborating with professional athletes and Fortune 500 companies this year. Being trusted to deliver an elite level breath training experience to elite athletes, corporate business, schools and those looking to improve general health and wellbeing has meant the application of my knowledge has been truly tested. I look forward to using the experience I have gained this year to continue my progression as we move into 2024
4. FRC Qualification: Elevating Service Standards
The acquisition of my FRC (Functional Range Conditioning) qualification really advanced my mobility and strength offering. Understanding its application for improving strength, joint and movement longevity, as well as rehabilitative purposes, has meant the quality of service my clients receive has again been drastically improved. This knowledge also perfectly compliments the continuing development of the training I offer to clients around improving breath mechanics. A vital component when looking to improve one's breath.
5. Ironman 70.3 Challenge: A Physical & Mental Test, For A Heartbreaking Cause
As I sit here now, five days after the completion of my Ironman 70.3 distance, and only four weeks after deciding to do it, I feel an extremely tired body, but an immense amount of pride.
I took on this challenge in support of lifelong friend Hollie, who tragically lost her beautiful son Rory to SIDS, aged only four months old. After Rory’s tragic death, Hollie and her husband Tom soon set about raising money, to push the development of finding the cause and prevention of SIDS, which as they have found, is extremely underfunded. This is why I decided to take on the Ironman challenge, to push myself to my physical and mental limits (two areas which define Prerequisite Performance), in a bid to help raise money. Both of which were truly tested to their max and beyond during the event.
If you would like to help this cause, please head to my linktree and give anything you can to help stop more parents going through this tragic loss.
6. Exciting Horizons: Embracing The Challenge & Opportunity 2024 Brings
As stated at the beginning, this has truly been a year I am proud of. The foundational elements of Prerequisite Performancer have been firmly established, and I am eager to expand upon them, striving to provide unparalleled service to those seeking optimal physical and mental performance in the upcoming year of 2024. Continuously committed to staying at the forefront of the industry, I will persist in acquiring knowledge that will be seamlessly imparted to each client. This knowledge will empower them to progress in their pursuits of enhanced health, fitness, and professional success.
Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who have supported me this year. Without you I wouldn't be able to pursue a career in which I am truly passionate about, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
May 2024 bring you all the health and happiness you could wish for,
Andy xx
